Halloween is a great time of the year when you can let your hair down and be spooky. This is also the night where you have to be careful as your home can be egged or damaged because of overzealous trick or treaters. When you carve pumpkins, you should gear yourself up so that you don’t hurt yourself. Pets like dogs can be quite spooked by the incessant door bells and trick and treaters. So make provisions for them by putting them in another room. They will be out of harm’s way and you won’t have to worry about them biting anyone. Dog bites cause premiums to go up because companies have to dole a lot out.

When you decorate your home, make sure you have accounted for every possible scenario. This means you need to ensure that your home is well lit and that there is nothing there which could make a trick or treater slip or fall. Since it’s your property, you will be liable if someone gets hurt. This is why it’s not a good idea to put something so scary that a child could fall and hurt himself. A good measure would be to ensure that there is plenty of liability cover so you can protect yourself.
This is the night when your home is most likely to be vandalized. Trick or treaters can smash your windows or try to light them on fire. This is why you need to invest in good porch lights and motion sensing lights so that they can be kept at bay.
