Property Manager MA: Final Walk-through

The final walk-through is the most important part of the buying process. This is the stage when the buyer can confirm that the home is in the same condition when they made the offer. The other reason is so that they can see if the seller has vacated the property or not. Plus the buyer and seller may have agreed on a number of fixes during the escrow. This will also give them a chance to see if the work has been as specified.

Sometimes buyers make a mistake as they go through the process without actually inspecting the property. This can lead to many issues later. This is why it is important to take the process seriously. Go through the home with a fine tooth comb and ensure there are no problems.

Don’t leave it till the last minute

Any expert will tell you that it is a bad idea to do the walk-through a day before the closing. This won’t give you enough time time to go through any repairs which need to be made. In the event there are problems before the day of closing, you can always schedule a follow-up walk-through. It will allow you to see if the problems were addressed. There should be no issue pushing the closing to a later date to find out.

Check mobile phone on all outlets

The best way to check the outlets is to plug a phone charger there. This will allow you to see if the outlet is working. This will also give you the opportunity to fix something if it isn’t working.

Property Manager MA: Look for Seller Leftovers

Keep an eye out for any junk left behind by the sellers. Look in the garage and attic to see if they have left anything behind. It is important to take care of stuff as this can be toxic for your health. Items which are toxic can be old paint cans or items which can be a risk to your health. If you catch this at the right moment, you can get the seller to get rid of them. If they go unnoticed post the closing, then they are your headache.

That is when one sees the home with all the imperfections and that is what comes as a surprise. So you need to prepared to see the home from another point of view.
